A truly exquisite dressage saddle in the sense that it has been expertly designed at Equine Inspired by George Gullickson, who is arguably one of the most knowledgeable and experienced saddle makers in the industry today. He specializes in designing saddles for the human and equine anatomy and acknowledges the biomechanical differences between male and female, horse breeds and conformations.
Saddle For The Female Rider, Saddle For The Horse
GEORGE GULLICKSON SAYS …
Although the diverse characteristics of female anatomy can be quite complex, the anatomy of the horse can be more complicated. Other than the genetic diversities we expect from different breeds, what the horse had been asked to do may have developed a compensating frame.
So as odd as it might seem, when we design a saddle, it may not be what I see in the static frame (as a horse is standing in cross-ties), rather where that horse will hopefully be in six months in their aerobic frame (when the horse’s correct muscles have developed, and compensating muscles have atrophied).
“Whatever it takes” – We believe that each horse has certain requirements, whether it is to build the correct musculature to compete successfully in a complex equine discipline, or perhaps to atrophy the compensating musculature first, before the correct musculature can be built.
Then there are the horses from diverse breeds that are being asked to do something that neither genetics or past training is making it difficult for them to achieve success.
George has worked closely with master saddlers in the UK to achieve the highest standards in saddle ergonomics. In this newly designed dressage saddle, the spring Tree can be adjusted by qualified saddler for exact fit. It features wool flocked panels, adjustable Velcro blocks, adjustable WELEP stirrup bars which allow the rider to position his/her legs correctly and with maximum comfort.
