About this saddle

Arguably, one of the best dressage saddles on the market today.  This is a lovely 17.5ins Aires de Haute dressage saddle with a wide width fitting which we measured to be 5.5ins.  Short saddle flaps custom made to  15.75ins.

George Gullickson – designer of this exquisite saddle –  is possibly one of the country’s leading equine biomechanical ‘engineers’ who has devoted his time and experience to designing saddles to fit horse and rider correctly.  He has worked closely with Frank Baines Saddlery in the UK to achieve the highest standards in saddle ergonomics.  In this Aires de Haute dressage saddle, the spring Tree can be adjusted by a qualified saddler for exact fit.  It features wool flocked panels, adjustable Velcro blocks, adjustable WELEP stirrup bars which allow the rider to position his/her legs correctly and with maximum comfort.  The gullet is very generous with a 3.25ins channel – thus allowing the panels to sit on the horse’s latissimus dorsi fairly and squarely.

Saddle Width Measurement:  Please note we measure 3-4 ins down from the center of the pommel and in, to where we can see the horse would start to make contact with the panels. We feel this is a more meaningful measurement than measuring button to button or at the extreme front of the saddle.
