This is a very nice, sympathetically used dressage saddle with a 17.5ins seat and medium gullet which we measured to be 4.75ins. The saddle flaps have a 16ins drop and some of the leather is in buffalo for extra durability. As is the case with many black, aged saddles, the leather has faded a little in places but the fittings such as billets are in good order and the flocking is sound.
The original, classic model, this Karl Niedersuss Symphonie Dressage Saddle is one of the finest available today. Soft knee rolls and an extremely soft medium-deep seat help you achieve the correct position without feeling forced. Wool flocked and gusseted panels allow for a proper fit on your horse’s back. Karl Niedersuss saddles have been chosen by the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, the Austrian National Team, the Dutch National Team and many other European and North American champion dressage riders. An official saddle maker for the 1988 Olympics, the Karl Niedersuss family has practiced the art of saddle making for over 200 years. It has developed a unique tanning process that allows for softness and comfort without compromising durability.
