Stunning and superbly designed dressage saddle made in Germany by Hennig. The Dressage Connection are the US distributors for Hennig saddles, and they work closely with Hennig. This is a very gently used and very well cared for Hennig Sofa – arguably one of the top dressage saddle brands on the market today. See below their philosophy on their technology. We measured this saddle to have a 5.25ins width which we regard as wide. We measure at the point where the saddle would come into contact with the horse, not at the buttons or D-rings. This saddle has a removable ‘grab’ strap at the front. Saddle flaps are 17.5ins long from the stirrup bar. Comes with Hennig saddle cover, as shown. Made in August, 2011. Consignor (owner of saddle), states that this saddle can be adjusted by an approved saddler, and is currently set to a wide fitting.
“Thanks to the patented division and widening of the saddle tree in the rear third, we were able to interrupt the pressure axis created during riding. Weight and pressure is transmitted as required only in the cross-buttock axis. This allows the desired shock absorption and thus back-friendly riding for horse and rider. These saddles have a widened support surface (cushion) with a chamber course of at least 6-7 cm.
The right situation on horseback is crucial!
We note the horse type, square or rectangular shape. It is important that the center of gravity of the saddle is oriented in such a way that the horseshoe cross-axis of the horseshoe is in the area of the vertical spinous processes. This assumes that regardless of the seat size, the saddle length must be adjusted to the horse’s back. “
