Dressage Saddles

Dressage –  a French term, most commonly translated to mean ‘training’,  is fundamental to all disciplines of equestrianism.  The DRESSAGE SADDLE is designed exclusively for the discipline – with a long and straight saddle flap, mirroring the leg of the dressage rider, has a deep seat with  usually a pronounced knee block.  Dressage saddles have longer billets and usea  shorter girth than other types of English saddles to minimize the straps and buckles underneath the rider’s legs. The saddle is usually placed over a square, white saddle pad.  Extra care must be taken to ensure correct fitting for both horse and rider – to allow maximum freedom of movement for the horse and correct balance for the rider.
